Iodantinopyrin Pharmacodynamics
Iodantinopyrin® has anti-inflammatory, immunostimulating and interferonogenic properties. It stabilizes biological membranes and delays virus penetration into the cell. It is an active inducer of alpha- and beta-interferon, stimulates cellular and humoral immunity. It is active against tick-borne encephalitis virus.
Indications
Prophylaxis of tick-borne encephalitis in adults, including emergency prophylaxis after tick bite.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to Iodantinopyrin® and other iodine-containing preparations, hyperfunction of thyroid gland, expressed liver and kidney dysfunction, pregnancy and lactation, children age.
Dosage and administration
- Tablets Iodantipirina ® is taken orally after a meal.
a) after a tick bite:
300 mg (3 tablets) – 3 times a day for the first 2 days; 200 mg (2 tablets) – 3 times a day for the next 2 days; 100 mg (1 tablet) – 3 times a day for the next 5 days.
b) during the period of staying in places connected with possible tick biting:
200 mg (2 tablets) once a day for the entire period; 200 mg (2 tablets) 3 times a day for 2 days before visiting places associated with possible tick bite.
