Description
Mycosoral Pharmacodynamics
Antifungal drug, a derivative of imidazoldioxolan. It has fungicidal and fungistatic effect.
The mechanism of action is inhibition of ergosterol biosynthesis and changes in the lipid composition of the fungal membrane.
The drug is active against dermatophytes Trichophyton, Microsporum, Epidermophyton floccosum, yeast-like fungi of the genus Candida, Pityrosporum.
Indications
Treatment of skin mycoses caused by fungi sensitive to the drug:
– dermatomycosis of smooth skin;
– inguinal epidermophytosis;
– Epidermophytosis of hands and feet;
– skin candidiasis;
– pityriasis;
– Seborrheic dermatitis caused by Pityrosporum ovale.
Contraindications
– Violation of the integrity of the skin at the sites where the ointment is supposed to be applied;
– Hypersensitivity to the components of the medication
Dosage and administration
- For smooth skin dermatomycosis, epidermophytosis inguinalis, epidermophytosis of the hands and feet, skin candidiasis and pityriasis, the ointment is applied to the affected area and its immediate vicinity once a day.
- For seborrheic dermatitis the ointment is applied to the affected area once or twice a day depending on the severity of the lesion.
- Average duration of treatment is as follows: in smooth skin dermatomycosis – 3-4 weeks; in inguinal epidermophytosis – 2-4 weeks; in foot epidermophytosis – 4-6 weeks; in candidiasis – 2-3 weeks; in chancroid – 2-3 weeks; in seborrheic dermatitis – 2-4 weeks.
