Glicelax Baby Pharmacodynamics
A laxative.
When used as rectal suppositories it softens and lubricates stiffened fecal mass, facilitates its passage through the large intestine, irritates intestinal mucosa and stimulates bowel motility by reflex, initiates the process of defecation, facilitates the passage and excretion of fecal mass.
Indications
Symptomatic treatment of constipation of various origins.
Defecation disorders in children from 3 months of age.
Contraindications .
Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, hemorrhoids in the acute stage, inflammatory diseases and tumors of the rectum, irritable bowel syndrome, intestinal obstruction, appendicitis, bleeding, diarrhea, undiagnosed abdominal pain, hemorrhagic rectocolitis;
Children under 3 months of age.
With caution.
Renal failure.
Dosage and administration
- Rectally.
- The drug is injected into the rectum. Usually, defecation occurs 5-10 minutes after introduction of the drug. The remains of the suppository are excreted from the intestine with the feces.
- Children: from 3 months of age and older at a dose of 0.75 g once a day.
- If necessary, the dose is increased to 2 suppositories per day.
- Before and after using the suppositories, hands should be washed thoroughly.
- Do not use the drug for more than 7 days without special instructions of a physician
