Protargol Description.
The product has a bactericidal effect against Gram-negative bacteria. Silver proteinate dissociates to form silver ions, which have an astringent, antiseptic effect. Silver ions actively inhibit infectious agents by binding their DNA.
Clear liquid from light brown to dark brown in color. Mild opalescence is allowed.
Indications
Prophylactic antiseptic in the form of drops.
Contraindications
Do not use during pregnancy and while breast-feeding.
If the drug accidentally enters the stomach, it is recommended to drink a few glasses of water with added adsorbent (for example, 10-15 crushed tablets of activated charcoal in a glass of water). Do not induce vomiting! Seek medical help if necessary.
Instructions for use and directions for use
- The drug Protargol is available as an aqueous solution for local use. For treating inflammatory eye infections: adults and children drop 1-2% Prothargol solution into the eye 2-3 drops 2-4 times a day. For treatment of urologic infections: 2% Protargol solution is used to wash the bladder and urethra. For treatment of ENT diseases (rhinitis, runny nose, pharyngitis, otitis): adults and children should put 3-5 drops 2 times a day into the nose.
