Description
Orvis Broncho Thyme Pharmacodynamics
The drug has an expectorant action, thins sputum and reduces its viscosity.
Active substances of the drug – thymol and carvacrol – also have antimicrobial action.
Indications
Complex therapy of respiratory tract infections accompanied by cough with sputum difficult to detach (including bronchitis, tracheitis, tracheobronchitis, whooping cough).
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to the ingredients of the drug; decompensated heart rate; gastritis; acute gastric or duodenal ulcer; hereditary fructose intolerance; glucose/isomaltase deficiency; glucose-galactose malabsorption; children under 1 year of age.
Caution
Liver disease; alcoholism; craniocerebral trauma; brain disease; children from 1 year of age.
Administration during pregnancy and lactation.
It is not recommended to take the drug during pregnancy and breast-feeding period because of lack of sufficient experience in clinical application in this category of patients.
Dosage and administration regimen
- Orally, regardless of meals.
- If the physician has not prescribed a different dosage, the drug is taken:
- Adults and children over 12 years: 2-3 tea spoons (10-15) syrup 3-4 times a day;
- Children from 5 to 12 years of age: 1-2 tea spoons (5-10 ml) of syrup 3-4 times a day;
- Children from 1 to 5 years: 1 teaspoon (5 ml) of syrup 2-3 times a day.
- The syrup can be taken without dilution or diluted with water.
- Duration of use of the drug is determined by therapeutic necessity and duration of the disease.
