Vitaprost Pharmacodynamics
Vitaprost® Plus combination drug has antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties.
Lomefloxacin is a broad-spectrum bactericidal agent of fluoroquinolones group. It affects the bacterial enzyme DNA-gyrase, which ensures superspiralization, forms a complex with its tetramer (gyrase A2B2 subunits) and disrupts DNA transcription and replication, leading to the death of the microbial cell. Highly active against Gram-negative aerobic microorganisms: Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Neisseria meningitides, Escherichia coli, Citrobacter diversus, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Enterobacter cloacae, Proteus vulgaris, Salmonella spp, Shigella spp., Moraxella morganii, Haemophilus influenzae e parainfluenzae, Legionella pneumophila, Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis, Serratia liquifaciens, Serratia marcescens, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Mycobacterium tuberculosis, Chlamydia trachomatis are moderately sensitive to the drug, Hafnia alvei, Citrobacter freundii, Aeromonas hydrophila, Proteus mirabilis, Proteus stuartii, Providencia rettgeri, Providencia alcalifaciens, Klebsiella oxytoca, Klebsiella ozaenae, Enterobacter aerogenes, Enterobacter agglomerans. Streptococcus spp., Pseudomonas cepacia, Ureaplasma urealyticum, Treponema pallidum, Mycoplasma hominis and anaerobic bacteria are resistant to the drug. It acts on most microorganisms at low concentrations (the concentration needed to inhibit the growth of 90% of strains is usually less than 1 mcg/ml). Resistance rarely develops.
Prostate extract has organotropic effect on the prostate. It reduces the degree of edema, leukocytic infiltration of the prostate, normalizes the secretory function of epithelial cells, increases the number of lecithin grains in the secretion of the acini, stimulates the muscle tone of the bladder. Reduces thrombosis, has anti-aggregant activity, prevents the development of venous thrombosis in the prostate. Normalizes the parameters of the prostate and ejaculate. Reduces pain and discomfort, improves copulatory function.
Indications
Acute and chronic bacterial prostatitis caused by susceptible microorganisms, including those accompanied by inflammatory diseases of the urogenital tract.
Conditions before and after surgical intervention on the prostate.
Contraindications .
Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.
Age under 18 years (the period of formation and growth of the skeleton).
With caution:
Cerebral atherosclerosis, epilepsy and other diseases of the central nervous system with an epileptic syndrome.
Dosage and administration method.
- Rectally, 1 suppository once a day after an enema or self-emptying. Before use, the suppository must be removed from the carton pack. After insertion of Vitaprost® Plus it is advisable to stay in bed for 30-40 minutes. The course of treatment continues until the disappearance of the pathogen in the prostate secretion and is from 10 to 30 days (the duration of treatment is determined by the doctor individually for each patient).
