Pictoride-Solopharm Pharmacodynamics
Pycloxidine is a derivative of biguanides, antimicrobial agent, has antiseptic effect. It is active against Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus faecalis, Escherichia coli, Eberthella typhosa, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Proteus vulgaris, Shigella dysenteriae, Bacillus subtilis, Chlamydia trachomatis, some viruses and fungi.

 

Indications
Adults and children from 0 years:
– Bacterial infections of the anterior eye;
– dacryocystitis;
– prophylaxis of infectious complications in the postoperative period after surgical interventions in the anterior eye region.

 

Contraindications
Individual hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.
Administration during pregnancy and lactation
Because application of the drug during pregnancy and breast feeding period has not been studied, it is not recommended to administer to pregnant and breast feeding women.

 

Directions for use and dosages

 

  • For treatment of bacterial infections drop 1 drop of the drug into the conjunctival sac 2 – 6 times daily. The duration of treatment is 10 days. Expediency and necessity of prolongation of the treatment period over 10 days shall be determined by a doctor.
  • In postoperative period 1 drop 3 – 4 times a day.
  • For prevention of postoperative complications (preoperative preparation) 1 – 2 drops of the drug are put into conjunctival sac just before surgical intervention.
  • Procedure of work with a vial:
  • 1.  Rotate the bottle counter-clockwise and remove the cap. 2.
  • Carefully, without touching the tip of the vial with your fingers, turn the vial upside down, fix it between the thumb and forefinger of one hand.
  • 3.  Tilt your head back, place the tip of the vial over your eye and with the index finger of your other hand pull down the lower eyelid. Lightly press the bottle and inject the desired amount into the conjunctival sac of the eye.
  • Avoid contact of the tip of the open vial with the surface of the eye and hands.
  • 4.  After use place the cap on the vial and close by rotating it clockwise.
  • After opening the bottle the drug can be used within 1 month. At the end of this period the drug should be thrown away.
  • Do not use the drug if the vial is visibly damaged.
