Dosage and administration
- Verrukatsid® is intended for external use only.
- The drug is applied precisely to the treated area with a special applicator or a small thin wooden stick, avoiding its contact with the adjacent healthy skin and mucous membranes.
- On small papillomas (up to 2 mm in size) and threadwarts Verrukatsid® is applied once.
- Larger papillomas and small warts (2-3 mm in size) are smeared 3-4 times, with intervals for drying of the applied liquid.
- Before removal with Verrukatsid® of warts with dense keratinized surface on hands, plantar warts, keratomas, dry calluses it is necessary to remove horny deposits from their surface. For this purpose, a keratolytic ointment (e.g. 10% salicylic or other) is applied for several hours, covered the smeared area with compress paper or polyethylene film, and then a gauze bandage is used. A gauze bandage may be used. After that, the bandage or plaster is removed, the skin is steamed in hot water with soap and soda for 10-15 minutes and remove stratum corneum (cut with manicure scissors or tongs).
- Verrukatsid® is applied several times to the dried skin, taking 3-4 minute intervals for the preparation to dry.
- Warts on hands and soles are treated with Verrukatsid® 7-10 times with 3-4 min intervals.
- Keratomas and dry calluses can be treated 3-4 times at intervals of 3-4 min.
- If it is necessary to apply the drug multiple times, it is advisable to lubricate the surrounding skin with zinc paste in order to avoid burns. The paste is removed with a dry gauze tampon after the last portion of Verrukatsid® has dried.
- It is not recommended to remove acute condylomas on your own and treat them with Verrukatsid® in the treatment room of an outpatient clinic by a dermatovenerologist or urologist. The preparation Verrukatsid® is applied separately to each element 1-2 times with an interval of 3-4 minutes.
- Repeat treatment in 6-8 days after crusts fall off, if necessary. 4-5 treatments are allowed.
