Nitrofural (Furacilin) ointment Pharmacodynamics
Antimicrobial agent, unlike other chemotherapeutic drugs causes conformational changes in proteins and other macromolecules, leading to cell death.
It is active against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria (Staphylococ-cus spp., Streptococcus spp., Shigella dysenteria spp., Shigella flexneri spp., Shigella boydii spp., Shigella sonnei spp., Escherichia coli, Clostridium perfringens, Salmonella spp. etc.).
Resistance develops slowly and does not reach a high degree. Increases the activity of RPP, enhances phagocytosis.

 

Indications
Purulent wounds, bedsores, burns and II-III degree frostbite, minor injuries of skin and mucous membranes (including abrasions, scratches, cracks, cuts).

 

Contraindications .
Hypersensitivity, bleeding, allergodermatosis.

 

Dosage and administration.
Topically, externally. Nitrofural (Furacilin) ointment is applied a thin layer on the affected skin 2-3 times a day. The amount of ointment applied depends on the extent of the lesion.
