Description
Primafungin Pharmacodynamics
Antifungal polyenic antibiotic of macrolide group, which has a broad spectrum of action. It has a fungicidal effect. Natamycin binds sterols of cell membranes, disrupting their integrity and function, which leads to the death of microorganisms. Most pathogenic yeast fungi, especially Candida genus, are sensitive to natamycin. Dermatophytes are less sensitive to natamycin. Resistance to natamycin is not encountered in clinical practice.
Indications
Vaginitis, vulvovaginitis, vulvovaginitis caused mainly by Candida fungi
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to the drug components.

Directions for use and dosages
- Intravaginal – For adults and girls (after sexual debut) use 1 vaginal suppository for 3 to 6 days. The suppository is inserted into the vagina, in a supine position, as deeply as possible, once a day at night. The suppositories should not be cut into pieces, because such a change in the conditions of storage of the drug may lead to a disturbance in the distribution of the active substance
