Description

Diazolin Pharmacodynamics
Blocker of H1-histamine receptors. It has anti-allergic effect, reduces mucosal edema. It weakens the effect of histamine on the smooth muscles of the bronchi, uterus and intestines, reduces the severity of the reduction of arterial pressure and the increase in vascular permeability. Slightly penetrating into the central nervous system, unlike first generation antihistamines, it does not have a pronounced sedative and hypnotic effect. It has weak M-cholin-blocking and anesthetic properties.
Therapeutic effect develops 15-30 minutes after intake, the maximum effect is observed after 1-2 hours. The duration of the effect may be up to 48 hours.

Indications
Pollinosis (hay fever), allergic conjunctivitis, pruritus, drug rash, skin reactions after an insect bite, allergodermatosis, accompanied by skin itching.

Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to the ingredients of the drug, prostatic hyperplasia, closed-angle glaucoma, peptic ulcer and duodenal ulcer, inflammatory diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, pylorostenosis, epilepsy, heart rhythm disorders, pregnancy, lactation, children under 3 years of age.
Caution
Hepatic and/or renal failure (dosage and intervals between doses may need to be adjusted.

Dosage and administration

  • Inside, without chewing, with or immediately after a meal.
  • Adults and children over 12 years: 100 mg 1-3 times a day. The maximum single dose is 300 mg, the maximum daily dose is 600 mg.
  • The duration of treatment is determined by the nature of the disease and the therapeutic effect achieved.
  • In children, the drug is used depending on age: for children aged 3 to 5 years – 50 mg 1-2 times a day, 5 to 10 years – 50 mg 2-3 times a day, 10 to 12 years – 50 mg 2-4 times a day.
