Lignin hydrolysis (Filtrum-STI) Pharmacodynamics
Filtrum  – is a natural enterosorbent, consisting of products of hydrolysis of wood components – polymer lignin, the structural elements of which are derivatives of phenylpropane and hydrocellulose.
It has high sorption activity and non-specific detoxifying effect.
It binds and removes from the body pathogenic bacteria and bacterial toxins, medications, poisons, heavy metal salts, alcohol, allergens, as well as excess of some metabolic products, including bilirubin, cholesterol, urea, metabolites responsible for the development of endogenous toxicity.

 

Indications
As a detoxifying agent in adults and children during exogenous and endogenous intoxications of different origin:
– Acute poisoning by drugs, alkaloids, salts of heavy metals, alcohol and other poisons;
– complex treatment of food toxic infections, salmonellosis, dysentery, dyspepsia;
– Purulent inflammatory diseases, accompanied by severe intoxication;
– Hyperbilirubinemia and hyperazotemia (hepatic and renal failure);
– Food and drug allergies;
– The prevention of chronic intoxication in workers harmful industries.

 

Contraindications .
Individual intolerance to the drug. Not desirable to use the drug in acute gastric and 12 duodenal ulcer, bowel atony.

 

Dosage and administration
  • Oral intake, preferably after crushing, with water an hour before a meal and taking other medicines.
  • The drug dose depends on age, body weight and severity of the disease, the drug is taken 3 – 4 times a day, the average single dose is for children: under 1 year – 0.5 tablet, 1-3 years – 1 tablet, 4-7 years – 1 tablet, 7-12 years – 1-2 tablets for adults – 2-3 tablets.
  • Duration of treatment for acute conditions 3-5 days, with allergic diseases and chronic intoxications to 14-21 days. Repeated courses of treatment after 2 weeks on the doctor’s recommendation.
