Description
Ketoprofen-Lor Pharmacodynamics
It has anti-inflammatory, analgesic effect. By inhibiting cyclooxygenase types I and II, inhibits the synthesis of inflammatory mediators (prostaglandins, thromboxane, etc.). Stabilizes lysosomal membranes and inhibits the release of enzymes that contribute to tissue destruction during inflammation. Inhibits the activity of neutrophils. It has anti-bradykinin activity.
The drug has no antibacterial effect.
Indications
Symptomatic treatment of inflammatory diseases of the upper respiratory tract – tonsillitis (angina), laryngitis, pharyngitis; inflammatory diseases of the mouth – stomatitis, gingivitis, glossitis, aphthae, periodontal disease, chronic periodontitis; as an analgesic in dental procedures.

Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to ketoprofen and other components of the drug, acetylsalicylic acid or other NSAIDs, complete or incomplete combination of bronchial asthma, recurrent polyposis or paranasal sinuses and intolerance to acetylsalicylic acid and other NSAIDs (including history), children under 12 years of age.
Caution
Gastro-intestinal erosive and ulcerative lesions (acute condition), Crohn’s disease, diverticulitis, peptic ulcer, haemophilia and other blood clotting disorders, chronic heart failure, bronchial asthma, elderly age, pregnancy (I and II trimester).
Administration during pregnancy and lactation
It is contraindicated during pregnancy in III trimester.
It is possible to use the drug in I and II trimesters of pregnancy only after consultation with a physician if the estimated benefits to mother overweigh the potential risk to fetus.
It is not recommended to use the drug during breast feeding.
Directions for use and dosages
- To rinse the mouth. Measure 10 ml of the drug (dose for 1 application) with the measuring cup, included in the package, and dilute it in 100 ml (half a cup) of drinking water. Rinse the mouth twice a day, preferably in the morning and in the evening. The drug should be used after a meal. The duration of treatment is determined by the doctor.
