Alfarona Pharmacodynamics
ALFARONA® is a human recombinant interferon-alpha-2b, a protein synthesized by Escherichia coli strain, which has the human leukocyte interferon alpha-2b gene built into its genetic apparatus. Alpharon is identical to human leukocyte interferon alpha-2b. It has antiviral, immunomodulatory, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial action.
Indications
Prevention and treatment of acute respiratory viral infections and influenza in adults and children in the early stages of the disease.
Contraindications .
Individual intolerance to interferon preparations, severe allergic diseases.
Dosage and administration method
- Intranasally. The contents of the vial should be dissolved in 5 ml of water for injections.
At the first signs of a flu or acute respiratory infections: adults – 3 drops in each nasal passage 5-6 times a day (single dose – 3000 IU, daily – 15000 – 18000 IU), newborns and children under 1 year – 1 drop 5 times a day (single dose 1 000 IU, daily dose – 5000 IU), For children from 1 to 3 years – 2 drops 3-4 times a day (single dose – 2000 IU, daily – 6000 – 8000 IU), from 3 to 14 years – 2 drops 4-5 times a day (single dose – 2000 IU, daily – 8000-10000 IU) for 5 days. - For the prevention of acute respiratory viral infections and influenza:
In contact with a patient and / or in case of hypothermia – according to the age dosage 2 times a day for 5-7 days. If necessary, prophylactic courses are repeated. In case of a single contact one injection is enough. - During seasonal increase in the incidence of the disease – according to the age dosage in the morning in 1-2 days.
- After injection it is recommended to massage the nasal wings with fingers for a few minutes for even distribution of the drug in the nasal cavity.
