Imudon Pharmacodynamics
Immunostimulant drug of bacterial origin for local use in dentistry and otorhinolaryngology. It is a polyvalent antigenic complex consisting of lysates of the bacteria most often causing pathogenic processes in the oral cavity and pharynx
Imudon activates phagocytosis, increases the number of immunocompetent cells, increases the production of lysozyme, interferon, and secretory immunoglobulin A in saliva.
Indications
Treatment and prevention of infectious and inflammatory diseases of the mouth and throat:
– pharyngitis;
– chronic tonsillitis;
– Preoperative preparation and postoperative period after tonsillectomy;
– Superficial and deep parodontosis, paradontitis, stomatitis (including aphthous), glossitis;
– erythematous and ulcerative gingivitis;
– Oral dysbacteriosis;
– Infections after tooth extraction, implantation of artificial tooth roots;
– Ulcerations caused by dental prostheses
Contraindications
– Individual hypersensitivity to the drug or its components;
– Children under the age of 3 years;
– autoimmune diseases
Pregnancy and lactation:
Information on the use of Imudon in pregnant women is insufficient. There are no relevant data from animal experiments and epidemiological studies.
It is not recommended to take Imudon® during pregnancy or lactation.
Dosage and administration method
- For adults and teenagers over 14 years old.
- In acute inflammatory diseases of the mouth and throat and acute exacerbations of chronic diseases take the drug up to 8 tablets per day. Tablets are chewed (without chewing) in the mouth at intervals of 1-2 hours. The average duration of treatment is 10 days.
- For the prevention of exacerbation of chronic inflammatory diseases of the mouth and throat drug take 6 tablets a day. Tablets chewed (not chewed) in the mouth at intervals of 2 hours. Course duration is 20 days. It is recommended that preventive courses of treatment Imudon 3-4 times a year.
- For children from 3 to 14 years.
- In the treatment of acute and exacerbation of chronic inflammatory diseases of the mouth and throat, as well as for the prevention of the drug used for 6 tablets a day. Tablets are crushed (not chewed) in the mouth at intervals of 1-2 hours. The duration of the course of treatment for acute diseases for 10 days, for the prevention of exacerbation of chronic diseases – 20 days. The course of prophylactic use is recommended to repeat 3-4 times a year.
