Synaflan Pharmacodynamics
Glucocorticosteroid drug (GCS) for external use, has anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic, antiexudative and antipruritic effects. It reduces the formation, release and activity of inflammatory mediators. When exposed to the skin there is prevention of marginal accumulation of neutrophils, which leads to a decrease in inflammatory exudate and cytokine production; inhibition of macrophage migration; reduction of infiltration and granulation processes.
Indications
Acute and chronic inflammatory and allergic skin diseases of non-microbial etiology, accompanied by dry skin: seborrheic dermatitis, eczema of various genesis and localization, atopic dermatitis, skin itching, psoriasis, sunburn, insect bites
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to fluocinolone acetonide or to other ingredients of the drug; rosaceous acne, acne, perioral dermatitis, skin infections caused by bacteria, viruses, fungi, syphilis, skin tuberculosis, postvaccinal reactions, trophic ulcers of the shin, anogenital itching, skin cancer, childhood, pregnancy, breast-feeding period.
Caution
In girls during puberty; in children over 2 years of age; in patients with atrophic skin changes, especially in the elderly; when applied to the face, folds, natural bends, areas with thin skin.
Application during pregnancy and lactation
It is contraindicated for use during pregnancy and lactation. If it is necessary to use the drug during breastfeeding it is recommended to discontinue it for the period of treatment with the drug, because it is unknown to what extent fluocinolone acetonide penetrates into the breast milk when used externally. Only in exceptional cases, after consultation with your doctor, the drug may be used for a short time and in limited areas of skin. Do not use the drug on the skin of the mammary glands.
Dosage and administration
- Outwardly. A small amount of the drug is applied to adults and children over 2 years old, wiped with a tampon moistened with antiseptic liquid and lightly rubbed into the skin (adults 2-4 times a day, children over 2 years – once a day).
- For limited lesions to enhance the effect the ointment can be used under an occlusive dressing. Do not use more than 2 g of ointment per day under the dressing. The ointment is preferred for dry forms of dermatosis.
- Duration of treatment depends on the nature of the disease and effectiveness of therapy, usually making 5-10 days, with a prolonged course of the disease up to 25 days. In children, it is recommended to use minimal effective doses, not more than 5 days.
- If after treatment no improvement occurs or symptoms worsen or new symptoms appear, consult a doctor. Use the drug only according to the method of use and in the doses specified in the instructions.
