Chondroitin (Chondroxid) ointment has a combined effect:
– Slows the progression of osteoarthritis and osteochondrosis;
– has analgesic effect;
– Has an anti-inflammatory effect;
– stimulates the restoration of articular cartilage;
– improves joint mobility;
– Reduces swelling of the joints.
Due to the optimal combination of the components of the ointment noted the mutual enhancement of their analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects. The use of the Chondroitin (Chondroxid) ointment can reduce the dose of nonsteroidal
anti-inflammatory drugs.
Chondroitin (Chondroxid) ointment contains the natural component chondroitin sulfate
(high molecular weight mucopolysaccharide), which is involved in the construction of cartilage tissue.
Chondroitin sulfate:
– Improves phosphorus-calcium metabolism in cartilage;
– Reduces the activity of enzymes that degrade cartilage;
– Inhibits the process of degeneration (destruction) of cartilage tissue;
– Stimulates the synthesis of glucosaminoglycans;
– Prevents collapse of connective tissue.
This leads to a decrease in pain and increased mobility of the affected joints.

 

Indications
Degenerative-dystrophic diseases of the peripheral joints and spine: treatment and prevention of osteoarthritis, spinal osteochondrosis.

 

Contraindications .
Hypersensitivity to the drug components. Damage to the skin in the area of application of the drug.
Caution
Pregnancy, lactation, children (effectiveness and safety has not been established).

 

Dosage and administration
  • Topical.
  • To treat the affected area, apply Chondroitin (Chondroxid) ointment onto the skin 2-3 times per day and massage it in for 2-3 minutes until it is fully absorbed. The duration of the treatment varies between 2-3 weeks to 2-3 months, and if required, the treatment can be repeated.
