Bacteriophage Dysentery Polyvalent Pharmacodynamics
The drug causes specific lysis of bacteria causing bacterial dysentery.
Indications
Treatment and prophylaxis of bacterial dysentery caused by Shigella flexneri serovars 1, 2, 3, 4, 6 and Shigella sonnei.
Prior determination of phage sensitivity of the causative agent is an important condition for effective phagotherapy.
Contraindications
– Hypersensitivity to the drug components.
Administration during pregnancy and lactation
Administration of the drug during pregnancy and lactation is possible in case of infections caused by phage-sensitive strains of bacteria (under doctor’s recommendation).
Administration in children
Used when indicated.
Dosage and administration
- The drug is intended for oral and rectal administration. For treatment, the drug is taken orally 3 times a day on an empty stomach 1 hour before a meal from the first day of the disease within 7-10 days.

8 years and older 30-40 50-60 - During dysentery, characterized by mild colic syndrome, and during convalescence, a combination of double oral administration with single rectal administration of single age dose of the drug in the form of an enema after bowel cleansing is recommended.
- For preventive purposes the drug is recommended to use during group diseases in organized groups and families. Optimal scheme of use is daily intake of single age dose.
- The duration of drug administration is determined by the conditions of the epidemic situation
