Description

Galavit Pharmacodynamics
Immunomodulatory drug with anti-inflammatory action.
The mechanism of action is associated with the ability to influence the functional and metabolic activity of macrophages. In inflammatory diseases reversibly (for 6-8 hours) inhibits excessive synthesis of tumor necrosis factor, interleukin-1 and other pro-inflammatory cytokines, reactive oxygen species by hyperactivated macrophages which determine the degree of inflammatory reactions, their cyclic pattern as well as severity of intoxication. Normalization of the functional state of macrophages leads to restoration of antigen-presenting and regulatory function of macrophages, reduction of autoaggression level.
The drug stimulates bactericidal activity of neutrophil granulocytes, increasing phagocytosis and increasing nonspecific resistance of the organism to infectious diseases.
The main pharmacological effects are observed within 72 h.
