Bifidumbacterin Pharmacodynamics
Live bifidobacteria have high antagonistic activity against a wide range of pathogenic and opportunistic intestinal microorganisms (including staphylococci, Proteus, enteropathogenic E. coli, shigella, some yeast-like fungi), restore the balance of intestinal and vaginal microflora, normalize digestive and protective function intestines, stimulate metabolic processes, enhance nonspecific resistance.
Statement
For oral use
– Prevention and treatment of gastrointestinal dysbacteriosis of various etiologies (including gastric ulcer and duodenal ulcer, pancreatitis, cholecystitis, hepatitis, allergic diseases, prescription of antimicrobials, hormones and NSAIDs);
– acute intestinal infections (shigellosis, salmonellosis, staphylococcal enterocolitis, rotovirus infection), food toxicoinfection, malabsorption syndrome, chronic constipation or diarrhea against prolonged antibiotic therapy;
– correction of microbiocenosis before and after operations on the intestine, liver, pancreas;
– Prevention of hospital infection and dysbiosis in patients frequently ill with acute respiratory infections.
Contraindications
– Hypersensitivity to the drug.
Dosage and administration
- For oral administration 20-30 minutes before a meal or with a meal (infants can be given immediately before feeding, pre-dissolving the lyophilizate.)
- Patients with surgical pathology – 3-5 days before surgery and within 10-15 days after surgery – 15-30 doses /.
- Chronic gastrointestinal diseases: (increased doses) 25-50 doses 1-3; treatment course – 10-14 days.
- Suppository contains 1 dose of bifidobacteria bifidum. In intestinal diseases – rectally, 1-2 suppositories 3 in combination with oral administration for 20-30 minutes before a meal, 5 doses 1-2 duration of treatment after an acute intestinal infection – 7-10 days, with prolonged and chronic forms – 15-30 days or more.
- In gynecological practice – intravaginal, 1 suppository 2 for 5-10 days.
- In violation of the purity of the vaginal secretion in pregnant women to III-IV stage. – 1 suppository 1-2 for 5-10 days or more, with the control of restoration of vaginal secretion purity to stage I-II and disappearance of clinical symptoms.
- For the prevention of purulent-septic complications during elective gynecological operations – intravaginally, 1 suppository 1-2 for 5-10 days before the expected operation or delivery.
- After antibiotic therapy – intravaginally, 1 suppository 1-2 for 10 days. If necessary, the course may be repeated in 3-4 months.
- Lyophilizate for oral solution and topical application (as irrigations, applications, lotions) is used for urogenital dysbacteriosis – intravaginally, for 2-3 hours a tampon is inserted, abundantly moistened in the solution (5-10 doses diluted in 15-20 ml of boiled water at room temperature); treatment course is 8-10 days.
