Description
Dexketoprofen (Flamadex) Pharmacodynamics
NSAIDS. It has anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antipyretic effects. The mechanism of action is based on inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis due to COX inhibition.
Analgesic effect comes in 30 minutes after intake, duration of action – 4-6 hours.
Indications
Pain syndrome of mild to moderate intensity in the following diseases and conditions: acute and chronic inflammatory diseases of the musculoskeletal system (rheumatoid arthritis, spondyloarthritis, arthrosis, osteochondrosis); dysmenorrhea; toothache.
Contraindications .
Gastric and duodenal ulcer, gastrointestinal bleeding, active bleeding of various genesis, increased bleeding, anticoagulant therapy, Crohn’s disease, non-specific ulcerative colitis, bronchial asthma ( including in anamnesis), severe heart failure, renal failure, liver failure, pregnancy, lactation, hypersensitivity to dexectoprofen or other NSAIDs.
Application during pregnancy and lactation
It is contraindicated for use during pregnancy and lactation.
Application in liver dysfunction
It is contraindicated in the case of hepatic insufficiency. For patients with liver dysfunction, the initial dose is not more than 50 mg/day.
Administration in renal impairment
Contraindicated in patients with renal insufficiency. For patients with impaired renal function, the initial dose is not more than 50 mg/day.
Administration in elderly patients
Caution must be exercised when administering Dexketoprofen (Flamadex) to elderly patients. The initial dose for elderly persons is not more than 50 mg/day.
Dosage and administration method
- It is taken orally. The average recommended single dose is 12.5 mg – 1-6 times/day every 4-6 hours as needed or 25 mg 1-3 times/day every 8 hours.
- Maximum daily dose is 75 mg. The duration of use is not more than 3-5 days.
- For patients with hepatic or renal dysfunction, elderly persons the initial dose is not more than 50 mg/day.
