Almost everyone knows about the damage caused by high cholesterol. Cholesterol clogs our blood vessels, resulting in high blood pressure, unstable heart function, risk of atherosclerosis… However, few people are aware of the real cause of where excess cholesterol comes from.
The liver synthesizes bile acids from cholesterol for proper digestive function. The salts of bile acids are excreted into the intestines about 6 times a day.
