Defisloz Pharmacodynamics
Protector of the corneal epithelium. It has a moisturizing and protective effect on the cornea with decreased tear fluid secretion. With its high viscosity, it increases the duration of contact of the solution with the cornea. The index of refraction of the solution is similar to natural tears.
Restores, stabilizes and reproduces the optical characteristics of the tear film.
Subjective and objective improvement of a condition (decrease of hyperemia, epithelization of lesions) usually comes within 3-5 days, expressed improvement or complete recovery – within 2-3 weeks.
Indications
– Erosion and trophic ulcers of the cornea;
– micro traumas of corneal epithelium;
– bullous dystrophic changes of the cornea;
– keratopathy;
– ectropion;
– lagophthalmus;
– eyelid deformity;
– condition after plastic surgery on the eyelids;
– condition after thermal and chemical burns of cornea and conjunctiva;
– Condition after keratoplasty, keratectomy;
– Substitution therapy for decreased tear fluid secretion;
– Dry eye syndrome (Sjögren’s syndrome), xerosis, keratosis (as part of combined therapy);
– Hypersensitivity of the eyes;
– at the end of diagnostic procedures: gonioscopy, electroretinography, electro-oculography, echobiometric investigation of the eyeball.
Contraindications
– Hypersensitivity to the drug components.
It is not recommended to use the drug in the acute phase of burns (until complete removal of the toxic substance).
Directions for use and dosages
- The drug should be instilled into the conjunctival sac 1 to 2 drops 4 to 8 times. 1-2 drops can be instilled every hour, if necessary. The course of treatment is 2-3 weeks.
