It has a sedative effect, has a moderate reflex vasodilator effect, caused by irritation of the sensitive nerve endings. It stimulates the production and release of enkephalins, endorphins and several other peptides, kinins (at the expense of irritation of the mucous membrane receptors), which actively participate in the regulation of vascular permeability and the formation of pain sensations. When sublingual administration, on average, therapeutic effect occurs in 5 minutes, and up to 70% of the drug is released within 3 minutes.
Dextrose monohydrate (glucose monohydrate) is involved in various metabolic processes in the body.
Indications
Functional cardialgia, neuroses, and as an antiemetic for sea and air sickness.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.
Children under 3 years of age.
Caution
Appoint patients with diabetes (the drug contains sugar).
Dosage and administration
- Validol is prescribed for adults under the tongue. The tablet should be kept in the mouth under the tongue until complete resorption. Take 1 tablet 2-3 times a day.
- Daily frequency and duration of intake is determined depending on the effectiveness of treatment. If the effect is not pronounced enough or when some patients in the next 5 minutes after taking the drug no effect is observed, it is necessary to contact the doctor to rule out a heart attack or prescribe other therapy. In severe and intensifying pains, especially against the background of previous heart diseases (angina pectoris, myocardial infarction and others) it is necessary to call an ambulance.
