Enemaxal Pharmacodynamics
Enemaxal is a saline laxative, which action is based on increase of water retention in intestinal lumen by osmotic processes. Accumulation of liquid in the intestine leads to increased peristalsis and subsequent emptying of the intestine. Time of effect – 5-7 minutes after administration.
Indications
– constipation;
– Preparation for endoscopic examination of the rectum;
– Preparation for X-ray examination of the abdominal cavity;
– Preparation for abdominal surgery, childbirth.
Contraindications .
Individual hypersensitivity, bowel obstruction, bowel perforation, acute hemorrhoids, anal fissures, acute inflammatory and/or ulcerative lesions of the distal gastrointestinal tract, children.
Use during pregnancy and lactation
Clinical studies have not been conducted in pregnant women, therefore, the drug is not recommended and may be used when indicated, when the potential benefits exceed the risks of use.
Dosage and administration method
  • Rectally, 120 ml (1 bottle).
  • Remove the cap from the bottle. Wrap the applicator with the protective cap on the bottle, lie on his left side, bending his right leg at the knee, remove the protective cap from the lubricated tip of the bottle, and gently insert the tip into the anus, pushing with little force towards the navel. Squeeze out the contents of the bottle and remove the tip from the anus. It is not necessary to squeeze out the contents to the end, as the bottle contains 15 ml of excess drug. It is recommended to keep the drug in the intestine for 8-10 minutes. The recommended body position should be maintained until the urge to empty occurs.
  • If after treatment no improvement occurs or symptoms worsen or new symptoms appear, it is necessary to consult a physician. Use the drug only according to the route of administration and in the doses indicated in the instructions.
