The main active substances Silimar ® are flavolignans derived from the fruits of milk thistle Silybum marianum (L.) Gaerth. family Asteraceae.
The drug has hepatoprotective and anti-toxic effects. The therapeutic effect is due to the effect on the metabolism of hepatocytes. Activates the synthesis of proteins and enzymes in hepatocytes, has a stabilizing effect on the membrane of hepatocytes, inhibits the penetration of toxins into the liver cells, inhibits the dystrophic and regenerative processes of the liver.
Indications
Silimar ® takes in toxic damage to the liver, chronic hepatitis, cirrhosis (in the complex therapy), after hepatitis. Prophylactically used in chronic intoxication (including occupational), prolonged drug and alcohol intake.
Contraindications .
Individual intolerance.
Dosage and administration
- Administered to adults and children over 12 years of age, 1-2 tablets 3 times a day for 30 minutes before a meal. The course of treatment 25-30 days. In chronic diseases repeated courses of treatment in 1 – 3 months is advisable. For preventive purposes, silimar is recommended to take during chronic intoxication (including occupational), prolonged drug and alcohol intake.
