Sea buckthorn oil Pharmacodynamics
Stimulates reparative processes in the skin and mucous membranes, accelerates the healing of damaged tissue. Has a restorative effect, has antioxidant and cytoprotective effect. It reduces the intensity of free radical processes and protects cellular and subcellular membranes from damage. Pharmacological effect is due to the presence in the sea buckthorn oil of carotene (provitamin A), tocopherols (vitamin E) and glycerides of unsaturated acids.
Indications
As wound-healing agent to stimulate reparative processes in the combination therapy for lesions of the skin and mucous membranes: in gastroenterology – with peptic ulcer and duodenal ulcer, in gynecology – with colpitis, endocervicitis, cervical erosions, otorhinolaryngology
-In proctology, with external hemorrhoids, with wound injuries of the skin, radiation injuries, burns.
As a general tonic.
Contraindications .
Hypersensitivity. For inside – cholecystitis, cholangitis, pancreatitis, hepatitis, cholelithiasis, children under 12 years.
Using during pregnancy and lactation:
Use is possible if the expected benefit to the woman exceeds the potential risk to the fetus or child. It is necessary to consult with the doctor.
Dosage and administration
- Orally, topically and externally.
- Gastroenterology drug is taken orally by 5 ml (1 teaspoon) 2-3 times a day. The course of treatment 10-14 days. By appointment of a doctor treatment can be extended up to 1-2 months.
- Sea buckthorn oil is used topically:
-With cervical erosion tampons abundantly soaked in sea buckthorn oil (5 – 10 ml
On cervical erosions are introduced, pressing closely to the erosive surface, every day, once a day for 20 – 30 minutes. With colpitis and endocervicitis lubricate the walls of the vagina after first cleaning them with cotton balls. The course of treatment of colpitis 10-15 procedures, endocervicitis and erosion 8 – 12 procedures.
-When external hemorrhoids after hygienic procedure a tampon abundantly moistened – with sea buckthorn oil (5 – 10 ml per tampon) firmly pressed on the hemorrhoidal nodes. - 1 – 2 times a day for 10 – 15 minutes. The course of treatment 5 – 7 procedures.
in otorhinolaryngology in tympanoplasty tampons soaked in oil (5 – 10 ml per tampon) are introduced for 2 – 3 hours in the external auditory canal or tamponize the bone wound surface during middle ear sanitation surgery. The procedure is performed daily after removal of postoperative tampons soaked in antibiotic or hydrocortisone solution. The course of treatment is 7-10 procedures. Outwardly as a wound healing agent the drug is applied to the affected area of skin previously cleaned of necrotic tissues and a cotton gauze bandage is applied. The procedure is repeated every other day (until granulation). - The course of treatment 7-10 treatments.
- As a general tonic drug is used internally by 2.5 ml (1/2 teaspoon) once a day.
