Tikveol Pharmacodynamics
The complex drug containing biologically active substances derived from pumpkin seeds.
High content of tocopherols (alpha-, beta-, gamma-, sigma-isomer) and carotenoids has a marked antioxidant effect, inhibiting lipid peroxidation processes in biological membranes.
Essential phospholipids have hepatoprotective effect, contribute to restoration of cell membrane of hepatocytes, its structure and function.
Essential fatty acids are involved in lipid metabolism, in the regulation of cholesterol and triglyceride metabolism, in the metabolism of arachidonic acid (as a biochemical precursor of prostaglandins).
The totality of pharmacological properties of biologically active substances in the drug Tykveol defines its anti-inflammatory and cytoprotective effect when applied topically.
Tykveol improves the functional state of the biliary tract by changing the chemical composition of the bile, has a mild choleretic effect, reduces inflammation in the epithelium of the biliary tract.
Pumpkin, having antiandrogenic properties, reduces the proliferation of cells in the prostate gland, normalizes its function by improving microcirculation and anti-inflammatory action.
Indications
– Chronic prostatitis;
– Benign prostatic hyperplasia stage I-II with associated prostatitis.
Contraindications .
– hypersensitivity to the drug.
Dosage and administration
Rectal suppositories are introduced into the rectum (pre-moistened with water), 1 sup. 1-3 course of treatment is 10 days to 3 months, or short courses of 10-15 days for 6 months.
