Ocularis Antisept Pharmacodynamics
Pycloxidine is a derivative of biguanides, antimicrobial agent, has antiseptic effect. It is active against Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus faecalis, Escherichia coli, Eberthella typhosa, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Proteus vulgaris, Shigella dysenteriae, Bacillus subtilis, Chlamydia trachomatis; some viruses and fungi.

Adults and children from 0 years:
– Bacterial infections of the anterior eye;
– dacryocystitis;
– prophylaxis of infectious complications in the postoperative period after surgical interventions in the anterior eye region.

Hypersensitivity to the active substance or other components of the drug.
Breast-feeding period.
If you have one of the above mentioned diseases/conditions or risk factors, consult your physician before using the drug.
Administration during pregnancy and breastfeeding
Since the use of the drug in pregnancy and during breastfeeding has not been studied, it is not recommended to prescribe OCULARIS® ANTICEPT to pregnant and breastfeeding women.
Before using OCULARIS® ANTICEPT, if you are pregnant or if you suspect that you may be pregnant or are planning to become pregnant, consult your physician.

Dosage and administration

  • For treatment of bacterial infections 1 drop of the drug is placed into conjunctival sac 2-6 times a day. The duration of treatment is 10 days. The appropriateness and necessity to prolong treatment for more than 10 days shall be determined by a doctor.
  • In postoperative period 1 drop of OCULARIS® ANTICEPT is instilled into the conjunctival sac 3-4 times a day.
  • For prevention of postoperative complications (pre-operative preparation) 1-2 drops of the drug are dropped into the conjunctival sac immediately before surgical intervention.
  • If after treatment no improvement occurs, or symptoms worsen or new symptoms appear, consult a doctor. Use the drug only according to the indications, the route of administration and the dosage indicated in the instructions.
