Description

Pentaflucin Broncho Pharmacodynamics
Pentaflucin-Broncho is a combination drug. Pharmacological effects are caused by the complex action of the components that make up the drug.
Ascorbic acid plays an important role in the regulation of redox processes, carbohydrate metabolism, blood coagulation, tissue regeneration, increases the body’s resistance.
Bromhexin is a mucolytic (secretolytic) agent, has expectorant and mild anti-cough effect. It reduces the viscosity of sputum (depolymerizes mucoprotein and mucopolysaccharide fibers, increases the serous component of bronchial secretion); activates the atrial epithelium, increases volume and improves sputum discharge. Stimulates production of endogenous surfactant, which provides stability of alveolar cells during breathing.
Calcium gluconate – is a source of calcium in the body, has anti-allergic effect (mechanism is unclear), prevents the development of increased vascular permeability and fragility that causes hemorrhagic processes during influenza and acute respiratory viral infection, and restores the capillary circulation. For the treatment of allergic diseases or complications its combined use with antihistamines is recommended.
Paracetamol is a non-narcotic analgesic that blocks the cyclooxygenase enzyme type 1 (COX-1) and the cyclooxygenase enzyme type 2 (COX-2) mainly in the central nervous system, affecting the pain and thermoregulatory centers. In inflamed tissues, cellular peroxidases neutralize the effect of paracetamol on cyclooxygenase, which explains the almost complete lack of anti-inflammatory effect.
Rutoside – reduces capillary permeability and fragility, has antioxidant properties.

Indications
Pentaflucin-Broncho is used in adults for symptomatic treatment of acute respiratory diseases (ARI) and acute respiratory viral infections (ARVI), accompanied by fever, chills, body aches, headache and muscle pain, tracheal inflammation and difficult discharge of viscous phlegm, increasing nonspecific resistance to infections.

Contraindications .
Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug; severe hepatic and/or renal insufficiency; blood diseases with a tendency to hemorrhage; peptic ulcer (acute stage); decompensated diabetes mellitus; deficiency of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase; pregnancy and breast-feeding period; arterial hypertension; hyperoxaluria; hypercalciuria; hypercalcemia; nephrourolithiasis; concomitant use with other drugs containing paracetamol; alcoholism; childhood (under 18 years); congenital intolerance to fructose, glucose-galactose malabsorption, sugar/isomaltase deficiency.

Dosage and administration

  • The contents of one sachet of the drug dissolved in 1/2 cup (125 ml) of hot water (t = 70 ° C) and drink. Slight sediment in the glass is allowed. Freshly prepared solution should be used. Shake well before use.
  • Pentaflucin-Broncho is used orally after meals, 1 sachet 3-4 times daily for 3-5 days. Interval between doses of the drug should be at least 4 hours.
  • Patients with impaired liver function or with Gilbert syndrome need to decrease daily dose or increase interval between drug doses to 8 hours.
  • In patients with impaired renal function, the time interval between doses of the drug should be at least 8 hours if creatinine clearance is less than 10 ml/min, at least 6 hours – if creatinine clearance is 10-50 ml/min.
