Description
Cordiamine Pharmacodynamics
Analeptic. Stimulates CNS, excites respiratory and vasomotor centers (especially with reduced tone of the vasomotor center). There is no direct stimulating effect on the heart and no vasoconstrictor effect. High (toxic) doses may cause clonic convulsions.
Indications
Cardiac activity disorder, shock, asphyxia, drug poisoning, sleeping pills, analgesics.
Contraindications
Prone to seizures.
Dosage and administration
- Administered orally, n / k, m / m and v / v. Dosage and frequency of administration are determined individually depending on indications, patient’s age and dosage form used.
