Description
Cordiamine Pharmacodynamics
It has analeptic action. It stimulates central nervous system: it excites vasomotor center of medulla oblongata (especially when this center is inhibited), which leads to indirect increase of systemic arterial pressure. It excites respiratory center due to stimulating effect on chemoreceptors of sinocarotid reflexogenic zone, which leads to increased frequency and depth of respiratory movements. The drug has no direct stimulating effect on the heart and direct vasoconstrictor stimulating effect.
