Superlymph Pharmacodynamics
Superlymph® is an immunomodulator, is a natural complex of natural antimicrobial peptides and cytokines – universal immune system stimulators with the activity of the factor inhibiting the migration of macrophages, interleukin 1 (IL-1), IL-6, tumor necrosis factor (TSF),
transforming growth factor secreted by peripheral blood leukocytes of pigs.
It has antiviral and antimicrobial action. The drug stimulates functional activity of phagocytic cells (monocytes and neutrophils): it activates phagocytosis, production of cytokines (IL-1, PHO), induces anti-tumor cytotoxicity of macrophages, regulates cell migration to inflammation focus, increases activity of natural killers. The drug has antioxidant activity, reduces the development of inflammatory reactions, stimulates regeneration and epithelization of wound defects.
Indications
In the complex treatment of herpetic diseases of the urogenital tract, including those complicated by bacterial and other viral infections.
The complex treatment of chronic recurrent uncomplicated cystitis to lengthen the period of remission.
Contraindications
– Body temperature over 38 ° C.
– Hypersensitivity to proteins of porcine origin and excipients.
– Severe allergic reactions in the history.
– Autoimmune diseases.
– Malignant tumors.
– Breast-feeding period.
– Age under 18 years. (due to the lack of data on the efficacy and safety).
Use during pregnancy and breastfeeding
Pregnancy
Application of Superlymph® during pregnancy is possible after physician’s consultation.
Lactation
Because of the lack of data on penetration of the drug Superlymph® into the breast milk, the use of Superlymph® during breast-feeding is contraindicated.
Dosage and administration method
- Before insertion, remove the packaging material from the suppository.
- For the treatment of acute viral infections Superlymph® 25 U is applied vaginally or rectally, depending on the sex of the patient, if necessary, alternating the mode of administration, 1 suppository 1 time per day. Course duration is 10 days.
- For prevention of relapse of viral infection Superlymph® 10 UD 1 suppository 1 time per day is used, alternating rectal and vaginal administration is possible.
- Course duration is 10 days.
- In order to prevent possible relapses, repeated courses of one course every 2-3 months and simultaneous treatment of both partners, as well as treatment of the partner in case of detection of herpes infection are allowed.
- In the treatment of recurrent uncomplicated chronic cystitis, Superlymph® 25 U is applied rectally for prolongation of remission period, 1 suppository 1 time per day during 10 days. The course of therapy with Superlymph® 25 units is started simultaneously with antibacterial and symptomatic therapy of cystitis episodes in patients.
