Ivilet Pharmacodynamics
Nafazolin is an alpha-adrenergic stimulant with fast, expressed and prolonged vasoconstrictor effect against mucous membrane vessels of the nasal cavity, nasopharynx and accessory sinuses – it reduces swelling, hyperemia and exudation, which improves patency of nasal passages, nasal breathing becomes easier. At the same time the patency of the eustachian tubes is restored. The therapeutic effect usually occurs within 5 minutes after the administration of the drug and lasts for 4-6 hours. Tolerance occurs after 5-7 days.
Menthol and eucalyptol contained in the drug have a cooling effect on the nasal mucosa, which gives a feeling of freshness.

Indications
Acute rhinitis (including during acute respiratory diseases and allergic rhinitis), sinusitis, eustachitis, laryngitis, laryngeal edema of allergic genesis, laryngeal edema caused by radiation, mucous membrane hyperemia after operations on the upper respiratory tract.
To stop nasal bleeding.
To facilitate rhinoscopy.

Contraindications .
Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, arterial hypertension, marked atherosclerosis, hyperthyroidism, severe eye diseases, closed-angle glaucoma, chronic rhinitis, atrophic rhinitis, children under 18, diabetes mellitus, tachycardia, simultaneous use of monoamine oxidase inhibitors and up to 14 days after their administration.
Caution
Coronary heart disease (angina pectoris), prostatic hyperplasia, pheochromocytoma, pregnancy, period of breast-feeding.
Administration during pregnancy and lactation
Usage for treatment of pregnant women and during breast-feeding period is possible only if the expected benefits to the mother exceed the potential risk to the fetus and child.

Dosage and administration

  • Intranasally (into each nasal passage) for adults is prescribed 1-3 injections 3-4 times a day. Immediately after injection it is recommended to make a light nosebleed. For diagnostic purposes – after clearing the nose, inject once in each nostril or insert a tampon soaked in the drug solution and leave it for 1-2 minutes. Use briefly, but no more than 1 week. If nasal breathing becomes easier, the use of the drug may be terminated earlier. Repeated use of the drug is possible after a few days.
