Hepafor Pharmacodynamics
Hepafor® is combined multicomponent medicine of directed hepatoprotective action. Active components of the drug have mutopotent action directed simultaneously on several pathophysiological processes in the liver: prevention of damage of liver cell membranes, suppression of free radical reactions and lipid peroxidation processes, inhibition of pathological immune activation and inflammation. Liver and gastrointestinal tract microflora are two main detoxification organs protecting macroorganism from toxic compounds through oxidative reactions (liver) and hydrolytic reducing anaerobic processes (intestinal microflora).
Bifidobacteria and lactobacillus included in the preparation are involved in metabolism of proteins, fats and carbohydrates providing formation of amino acids, vitamins, organic and short-chain fatty acids that improve tissue trophism and liver function, transform exo- and endotoxins, transforming them into non-toxic compounds that are removed from the body. The pronounced enzymatic activity of probiotic bacteria leads to a reduction of the toxic load on the liver. Disruption of the composition of the intestinal microflora contributes to a slow evacuation of bile and the formation of gallstones. Conglomerates sorbed on silicon dioxide colloidal bacteria create optimal conditions for rapid recovery of intestinal normoflora and its protective functions. Milk thistle extract dry has a stabilizing effect on the liver cell membrane, inhibits the process of cytolysis and toxin penetration into liver cells, stimulates the synthesis of proteins and enzymes in hepatocytes, prevents the development of cholestasis.
Auxiliary agent lactulose – bifidogenic factor is not broken down by small intestine enzymes and is not absorbed, is hydrolyzed by bacteria in the large intestine.
Indications
The drug is used in adults of all age groups in the treatment of:
– toxic liver injuries (including drug-induced);
– Acute and chronic hepatitis, including medicinal (including those developed against the background of use of anti-tuberculosis drugs) and for restoration of normal intestinal flora;
– Chronic hepatitis of various etiologies, including those with dysfunction of biliary tract;
– liver cirrhosis;
– conditions after hepatitis;
– Acute viral hepatitis.
The drug is used as a preventive measure in chronic intoxication (including occupational), prolonged drug and alcohol abuse.
Contraindications .
Individual intolerance to the components of the drug.
Childhood.
PRECAUTIONS FOR USE
The drug is not suitable for use after expiration date, after changing the appearance, if the marking on the primary package is missing or unclear, if the integrity of the primary package is broken before the first opening.
POSSIBILITY OF USING THE DRUG DURING PREGNANCY AND BREASTFEEDING
No data on application of the drug during pregnancy and breastfeeding
Directions for use and dosages
- For treatment of toxic liver injury, chronic hepatitis, cirrhosis, conditions after hepatitis, drug-induced hepatitis and intestinal dysbacteriosis against the background of antituberculosis and other antimicrobials – 2 capsules 3 times a day, 14 to 30 days course.
- For the treatment of acute viral hepatitis – 1 capsule 3 times a day, a course of 15 days.
- Preventively drug is used in 1 – 2 capsules 3 times a day, the course of 14 – 30 days.
- If necessary, the course is repeated after 1-3 months.
- Hepafor® is taken orally with food, with boiled water at room temperature.
