Analgin Pharmacodynamics
It has analgesic, antipyretic and slightly anti-inflammatory effects, it is a pyrazolone derivative.
Pharmacodynamics
Analgin non-selectively blocks cyclooxygenase and reduces the formation of prostaglandins from arachidonic acid, and inhibits conduction of extra- and proprioreceptive pain impulses. Analgin has a weak anti-inflammatory effect, resulting in little effect on water-salt metabolism (sodium and water retention) and the mucous membrane of the gastrointestinal tract. It has antispasmodic effect on smooth muscles of urinary and biliary tracts.
The action develops in 20-40 minutes after oral administration.
Indications
Feverish syndrome against infectious-inflammatory diseases, headache of various genesis, the pain syndrome of mild to moderate severity: neuralgia, myalgia, arthralgia, colic, intestinal colic, renal colic, trauma, radiculitis, myositis, postoperative pain syndrome, algodysmenorrhea.
Contraindications .
Hypersensitivity, suppression of hematopoiesis (agranulocytosis, neutropenia), hepatic and/or renal insufficiency, hereditary hemolytic anemia associated with glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency and other types of anemia, intolerance to acetylsalicylic acid, bronchial asthma caused by taking acetylsalicylic acid, nasal polyps, anemia, leukopenia, pregnancy (especially in 1st trimester and last 6 weeks), lactation, children under 8 years (for this dosage form).
With caution:
In kidney diseases (pyelonephritis, glomerulonephritis – including in the anamnesis), in moderately expressed liver and kidney disorders, bronchial asthma, predisposition to the development of arterial hypotension, long-term abuse of alcohol.
Dosage and administration
- Orally, after a meal, adults and children over 14 years of age are prescribed 250-500 mg 2-3 times a day, the maximum single dose – 1000 mg, daily – 3000 mg.
- Children of 8-14 years of age are prescribed 250 mg (1/2 tablet) 2 to 3 times a day.
Duration of use without consulting a doctor is not more than 5 days.
