Description
Viferon Pharmacodynamics
The preparation of human recombinant interferon alfa-2. It has pronounced antiviral, antiproliferative and immunomodulatory properties.
The complex composition of Viferon gel and ointment causes a number of additional effects. In the presence of tocopherol acetate specific antiviral activity of interferon alpha-2 increases, its immunomodulatory effect (stimulation of neutrophil phagocytic function in lesions) increases. Tocopherol acetate, being a highly active antioxidant, has anti-inflammatory, membrane stabilizing and regenerating properties.
When used in the gel form, the gel base supports prolonged action of the drug, and excipients support stability of specific activity and proper microbiological purity of the drug.
