Herpferon Pharmacodynamics
Herpferon® – ointment for local and external use is a combined preparation with antiviral, anti-inflammatory, immunomodulatory and analgesic effect.
Interferon alfa-2b human recombinant has pronounced antiviral activity (inhibits virus replication in infected cells) and immunomodulatory effect (enhances phagocytic activity of macrophages in lesions).
Acyclovir has a pronounced antiviral effect. It is highly active against Herpes simplex virus types 1 and 2; virus causing chicken pox and shingles (Varicella zoster).
Lidocaine has a local anesthetic and moderate antipruritic effect. The combination of active substances provides a more pronounced anti-herpetic effect: it prevents the formation of new rash elements, reduces the likelihood of cutaneous dissemination, accelerates healing, reduces pain.
Indications
Primary and recurrent herpetic skin and mucous membrane lesions, genital herpes, herpes zoster.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.
Pregnancy and lactation:
There are no data on the use of the drug during pregnancy and lactation. Therefore, the drug should be used in these patients only if the expected treatment effect exceeds the risk of possible side effects.
Dosage and administration regimen
