Gymecromone-SZ Pharmacodynamics
A diuretic drug. Increases formation and excretion of bile.
It has a selective antispasmodic effect on the bile ducts and sphincter of Oddi (does not reduce peristalsis of the gastrointestinal tract (GIT) and blood pressure (BP)). Reduces bile stasis, prevents crystallization of cholesterol and thus the development of cholithiasis.

Biliary dyskinesia and sphincter of Oddi type of hyperkinetic, non-calculous chronic cholecystitis, cholangitis, cholelithiasis, conditions after surgical operations on gallbladder and biliary tract. Reduced appetite, nausea, constipation, vomiting (against hyposecretion of bile).

Contraindications .
Biliary obstruction, renal/liver failure, ulcerative colitis, Crohn’s disease, peptic ulcer, hemophilia. Childhood under 7 years old.
Use in pregnancy and during breast-feeding
There are no data on safety of application of Gymecromon during pregnancy and lactation. The use of Gymecromon-SZ during pregnancy and breastfeeding is allowed by prescription of a physician only in cases when the potential benefit to the mother exceeds the potential risk to the fetus and child.

Dosage and administration

  • Orally, 30 minutes before a meal; adults – 200-400 mg (1-2 tablets) three times a day.
  • The daily dose of 1200 mg.
  • Children from 7 years of age take 200 mg (1 tablet) once or three times a day.
  • The daily dose of 600 mg.
  • The course of treatment is 2 weeks.
  • If a dose is missed, take the drug as soon as possible or, if the next dose is approaching, do not take the missed dose. Do not take a double dose at once.
  • If after treatment no improvement or worsening of symptoms or appearance of new symptoms occurs, it is necessary to consult a doctor. Use the drug only according to the indications, the route of administration and the doses stated in the instructions.
