Description

Hydrocortisone Akos Pharmacodynamics
Hydrocortisone – a natural glucocorticosteroid. It has anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic effect. It reduces inflammatory cell infiltrates, decreases migration of leukocytes and lymphocytes into the inflamed area. Stabilizes cellular and subcellular, including lysosomal membranes and membranes of mast cells. Reduces immunoglobulin binding to cell surface receptors and inhibits the synthesis or release of cytokines (interleukins and interferon) from lymphocytes and macrophages. Reduces the release of arachidonic acid from phospholipids and the synthesis of its metabolites (prostaglandins, leukotrienes, thromboxane). Reduces exudative reaction, helps to reduce capillary permeability. It reduces the severity of early immunological response. It has catabolic action and inhibits the development of connective tissue and scarring.
