Description
Gramicidin C Pharmacodynamics
Antimicrobial agent for treatment of infectious-inflammatory diseases of the throat and oral cavity. The mechanism of action of Gramicidin C is connected with increase of permeability of cytoplasmic membrane of a microbial cell, which breaks its resistance and causes cell death. The drug reduces inflammation, alleviates discomfort in the throat and facilitates swallowing.
Indications
Infectious inflammatory diseases of the mouth and throat:
– Acute tonsillitis (sore throat);
– Pharyngitis;
– Periodontal disease;
– Gingivitis;
– Stomatitis.
Contraindications .
Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, lactation, children under 4 years of age.
Caution
Pregnancy, children from 4 to 12 years of age.
Administration during pregnancy and lactation
If it is necessary to apply the drug during pregnancy, it is necessary to consult the physician in order to evaluate the ratio of benefits for mother and potential risk for fetus. Breast-feeding should be stopped during the treatment period.
Dosage and administration
- Used after a meal, by chewing slowly in the mouth, without chewing.
- One to two hours after application of the drug should refrain from eating and drinking.
- Adults and children over 12 years: 2 tablets (one after another for 20-30 minutes) 4 times a day.
- Children 6 to 12 years of age: 1 to 2 tablets 4 times a day (but not more than 7 tablets a day).
- Children from 4 to 6 years: 1 tablet 4 times a day.
- The course of treatment – 5-6 days.
- Use more than 6 days is possible by doctor’s recommendation.
