Glycerin Baby Pharmacodynamics
Laxative for topical use. Has a mild irritant effect on the mucous membrane of the rectum and reflexively stimulates peristalsis. Contributes to the softening of feces.
When used topically it has a dermatoprotective effect, softens the skin and mucous membranes.
Indications
Constipation of various origins (including habitual, age, with limited mobility).
Dry skin and mucous membranes (for external use).
Contraindications .
Hemorrhoids in the acute phase, anal fissures, inflammatory diseases and tumors of the rectum, hypersensitivity to glycerol.
Dosage and administration
- Suppositories 1.24 g: It is allowed to use from the first days of life. Children under 3 years of age – 1/2 suppository, children from 3 to 7 years – 1 suppository 1 time per day.
- If necessary, the dose is increased to 2 suppositories per day.
