Nanotropil Novo Pharmacodynamics
Nootropic drug with a pronounced anti-amnesic effect, promotes memory consolidation, facilitates learning, increases the resistance of brain tissue to toxic effects, has anticonvulsant effect.
It has a positive effect on metabolic processes, stimulates redox processes and increases the body’s energy potential by utilizing glucose. It increases the content of norepinephrine, dopamine and serotonin in the brain; it does not affect the content of GABA; it does not bind with GABA and GABA receptors and has no marked effect on the spontaneous bioelectrical activity of the brain.
It has no effect on respiration and cardiovascular system, shows a subtle diuretic effect, has anorexigenic activity when used as a course of treatment.
Stimulant effect is manifested in the ability to have a moderately pronounced effect on motor reactions, increased physical performance, as well as weakening the severity of the sleeping effect of ethanol and hexobarbital.
Psychostimulatory effect is predominant in the ideational sphere.
Adaptogenic effect is manifested by increased resistance to stress in conditions of excessive mental and physical exertion, fatigue, hypokinesia and immobilization, low temperatures.
Against the background of taking the drug there is an improvement of vision, which is manifested in increased acuity, brightness and visual fields.
Improves the blood supply to the lower extremities.
It stimulates the production of antibodies in response to the introduction of the antigen, which indicates the immune-stimulating properties, but at the same time it does not contribute to the development of immediate hypersensitivity and does not change the allergic inflammatory reaction of the skin caused by the introduction of a foreign protein.
During a course of use, drug dependence, tolerance and “withdrawal syndrome” do not develop.
The action appears at a single dose, which is important when using the drug in extreme conditions.
Indications
– CNS diseases of different genesis, accompanied by a deterioration of intellectual and mental functions, decreased motor activity.
– Neurotic condition, manifested by memory impairment.
– Learning disabilities.
– Psycho-organic syndromes manifested by intellectual and mental disorders.
– Convulsive conditions.
– Obesity (of alimentary and constitutional genesis).
– Prevention of hypoxia, increasing resistance to stress, correction of the functional state of the body in extreme conditions of professional activity in order to prevent the development of fatigue and to increase mental and physical performance.
– Chronic alcoholism (in order to reduce the intellectual and mental disorders).
– CNS diseases of different genesis, accompanied by a deterioration of intellectual and mental functions, decreased motor activity.

Contraindications .
Hypersensitivity to fonturacetam or any excipient of the drug.
Pregnancy and breast-feeding.
Age less than 18 years (because of the lack of clinical data concerning efficiency and safety of the use of Fonturacetam in this age group).
Caution
In patients with severe organic lesions of the liver and the kidneys, severe arterial hypertension, with significant atherosclerosis, who have had panic attacks, acute psychotic states with psychomotor agitation – due to the possibility of aggravation of anxiety, panic, hallucinations and delirium, and also in patients with allergic reactions to nootropic drugs of pyrrolidone group.
Use during pregnancy and during breastfeeding
There are no data on randomized clinical trials of Fonturacetam in pregnant women, therefore, the drug Nanotropil® Novo is contraindicated during pregnancy and breast-feeding.

Dosage and administration method
- Inside.
- Take immediately after a meal. The dose and duration of treatment should be determined by the doctor. Doses vary depending on the characteristics of the patient. The average single dose is 150 mg (100 to 250 mg); the average daily dose is 250 mg (200 to 300 mg). Maximum daily dose of Nanotropil® Novo is 750 mg. It is recommended that a daily dose of up to 100 mg should be taken once in the morning, and over 100 mg should be divided into 2 doses. The duration of treatment may vary from 2 weeks to 3 months, on average 30 days. If necessary, the course may be repeated in 1 month.
- To increase the performance capacity, 100-200 mg once in the morning hours, for 2 weeks (for athletes, 3 days).
- The recommended duration of therapy with the drug in patients with alimentary-constitutional obesity is 30-60 days in a dose of 100-200 mg once a day (in the morning hours). It is not recommended to take the drug later than 15 hours.
