Cough syrup for children Pharmacodynamics
Combined drug, has expectorant, anti-inflammatory. Althea root extract dry increases the secretion of bronchial glands, licorice extract dry has anti-inflammatory, expectorant and antispasmodic action. Sodium hydrogen carbonate shifts pH of bronchial mucus in the alkaline side, reduces the viscosity of sputum, licorice root has anti-inflammatory and antispasmodic, sodium benzoate and ammonium chloride have expectorant action.
Indications
As an expectorant for respiratory diseases, accompanied by cough with sputum difficult to separate (including tracheitis, bronchitis, bronchopneumonia).
Contraindications .
Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, acute glomerulonephritis, acute pyelonephritis, pregnancy, breast-feeding. Sucrose/isolmatase deficiency, fructose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption.
Dosage and administration
- Orally, children: dissolve the contents of 1 sachet in 15 ml (1 tablespoon) of cold boiled water, 3-4 times a day after meals: children under! Year no 15-25 drops; children 1-2 years – 40 drops, children 3-4 years – 1 / 2 teaspoons (2.5 ml), children 5-6 years – 3 / 4 teaspoons (3.75 ml), children 7-8 years – 1 teaspoon (5 ml) children 9-12 years – 2 teaspoons (10 ml), children over 12 years – 1 tablespoon (15 ml).
- Course of treatment for 2-3 weeks.
