Oksolin-Akos Pharmacodynamics
The drug has a virulicidal effect on the influenza virus in direct contact with the virus-containing material, it prevents the reproduction of the virus in cells by blocking the binding sites of the influenza virus (mainly type A2) with the surface of the cell membrane.
Indications
Prevention of influenza, treatment of viral rhinitis.
Contraindications .
Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.
Caution
Pregnancy, breast-feeding, children under 2 years of age.
Usage during pregnancy and lactation
The drug may be used during pregnancy and breast-feeding only when the anticipated benefits to the mother exceed the potential risk to the fetus and the child.
Directions for use and dosages
- Intranasal.
- Influenza prophylaxis: A 3 to 5 mm strip of the ointment is smeared into the nasal mucosa 2-3 times a day during the epidemic outbreak of influenza and its maximum development (for 25 days) or during contact with a patient with influenza.
- Treatment of viral rhinitis: 3 to 5 mm long strip of ointment is smeared on the nasal mucosa 2-3 times a day for 3-4 days.
- If after treatment no improvement occurs or symptoms worsen or new symptoms appear, consult a doctor.
- Use the drug only according to those indications, that method of use and in those doses specified in the instructions.
