Description
Diosmin Vertex Pharmacodynamics
Venotonic action: it reduces the stretching of the veins, increases venous tone, reduces venous congestion, increases the vasoconstrictor effect of adrenaline and noradrenaline. One tablet contains 600 mg of diosmin, which is the optimal effective daily dose for venotonic action.
Angioprotective effect: it improves microcirculation, increases the resistance of capillaries, reduces their permeability.
Action on the lymphatic system: improves lymphatic drainage, increases the tone and frequency of contraction of the lymph capillaries, increases their functional density, reduces lymphatic pressure.
It has an antiedematous effect. Reduces the symptoms of inflammation (dose-dependent effect).
Reduces the adhesion of leukocytes to the venous wall and their migration into the paravasal tissues; improves oxygen diffusion and perfusion into the tissues. Blocks the production of free radicals, synthesis of prostaglandins and thromboxane.
In clinical studies the following was confirmed: reduction of mean venous pressure in the system of superficial and deep veins of the lower extremities, demonstrated in a double-blind placebo-controlled study conducted under the control of Doppler, as well as increased systolic and diastolic pressure in patients with postoperative orthostatic hypotension.
Indications
-Treatment of symptoms of lymphovenous insufficiency of the lower extremities (a feeling of heaviness, fatigue, distension in the legs, pain that worsens at the end of the day, swelling);
-treatment of symptoms of acute hemorrhoids;
-additional treatment in violation of microcirculation;
Contraindications
-High sensitivity to the components of the drug;
-Period of breast-feeding (experience of use is limited);
-Childhood under 18 years of age (experience of use is limited).
Administration during pregnancy and breast-feeding.
Pregnancy
Application during pregnancy is possible only by prescription of a physician in cases when the expected benefits to a mother outweigh the potential risk to a fetus. Teratogenic effects on the fetus have not been found in experimental studies. To date, in clinical practice, there have been no reports of cases of malformational or fetotoxic effects on the fetus when using the drug in pregnant women.
Breast-feeding period
It is not recommended to breastfeed nursing women because of lack of data on drug penetration into the breast milk.
Directions for use and dosages
- The drug is intended for oral administration.
- Lymphovenous insufficiency of lower limb veins
- In chronic lymphovenous insufficiency is prescribed 1 tablet a day in the morning, preferably before meals.
- Usually the course of treatment is 2 months.
- Acute hemorrhoids and exacerbation of chronic hemorrhoids
- Acute hemorrhoids and exacerbations of chronic hemorrhoids drug prescribed the first four days to 1 tablet 3 times a day with meals, and the next three days to 1 tablet 2 times a day with meals. In case of recurrence of symptoms the treatment course may be repeated on the recommendation of the doctor.
- Chronic hemorrhoids
- After relief of acute effects is recommended to continue taking the drug at 1 tablet 1 time per day for 1-2 months. If one or more doses of the drug are missed, it is necessary to continue using the drug as usual and in the usual dose.
