Diclofenac Pharmacodynamics
The active ingredient diclofenac is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) with pronounced analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties. Indiscriminately inhibiting cyclooxygenase type 1 and 2, disrupts the metabolism of arachidonic acid and the synthesis of prostaglandins, which are a major link in the development of inflammation. Diclofenac is used to eliminate pain, inflammation in joints, muscles and ligaments of traumatic or rheumatic origin, helps to reduce pain and swelling associated with inflammation, increase joint mobility.

 

Indications
– Post-traumatic inflammation of soft tissue, e.g., due to sprains, strains, bruises, injuries;
– Rheumatic diseases and soft tissue swelling (tendovaginitis, bursitis, periarticular lesions, wrist syndrome)
– joint pain (finger joints, knee joints, etc.) in osteoarthritis;
– Back pain in inflammatory and degenerative diseases of the spine (osteoarthritis, radiculitis, lumbago, sciatica).
The drug is intended for symptomatic therapy, to reduce pain and inflammation at the time of use, the progression of the disease has no effect.

 

Contraindications
– Hypersensitivity to diclofenac or other components of the drug;
– complete or incomplete combination of bronchial asthma, recurrent nasal and paranasal sinus polyposis, intolerance to salicylates or other NSAIDs (including anamnesis);
– pregnancy (III trimester);
– Breast-feeding period;
– childhood (under 12 years of age);
– Violation of the integrity of the skin in the intended place of application.

 

Dosage and administration.

 

  • Externally.
  • It is applied by a thin layer to the skin in the inflammation area 2 to 3 times a day in a dose of 2 g (about 4 cm with the tube’s neck fully open) and gently rubbed in if adults and children over 12 years old.
  • A single dose of the drug is 2 g.
  • Maximum daily dose should not exceed 6 g.
  • Hands should be washed after applying the drug.
  • The course of treatment should not exceed 14 days. The need for longer use is determined by your doctor.
  • Use in minimally effective doses for a minimally short course.
  • Use diclofenac only according to those indications, that method of use and in those doses that are specified in the instructions.
