Depantol Pharmacodynamics
Depantol® is a combined preparation for topical use with regenerating, antiseptic, metabolic action. Chlorhexidine contained in the drug is active against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria: Treponema pallidum, Chlamidia spp., Ureaplasma spp., Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Gardnerella vaginalis, Bacteroides fragilis, Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp.; yeasts, dermatophytes, protozoa (Trichomonas vaginalis). Some strains of Pseudomonas spp. and Proteus spp. are slightly sensitive to the drug, as well as acid resistant forms of bacteria and bacterial spores are resistant. Dexpanthenol contained in the drug stimulates regeneration of mucous membranes, normalizes cellular metabolism, accelerates mitosis and increases the strength of collagen fibers.
Depantol® does not disrupt functional activity of lactobacilli. It preserves the activity (although somewhat reduced) in the presence of blood, pus.
Administration during pregnancy and lactation
It is possible to use during pregnancy and during breast-feeding.
Indications
Treatment of acute and chronic vaginitis; endo/exocervicitis, including those complicated by cervical ectopy.
Treatment of true cervical erosions of specific etiology (in combination therapy).
The drug is used to improve the regeneration of the mucous membrane of the vagina and cervix uteri after destructive treatment (diathermic coagulation, cryo destruction, laser destruction), in postoperative and postpartum periods.
Contraindications .
Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.
Pregnancy and lactation:
Depantol ® is allowed to use during pregnancy and lactation.
Dosage and administration
- It is used intravaginally. Before use, the suppository is loosened from the contour packing.
- Injection: 1 suppository 2 times a day, for 7-10 days. If necessary, it is possible to extend the course of treatment up to 20 days.
