Description

Oftarint Pharmacodynamics
Combined drug that improves energy metabolism of the lens. Cytochrome C plays an important role in biochemical redox processes in the eyeball tissues and is an antioxidant. Adenosine is a precursor of adenosine triphosphate (ATP) and takes part in the metabolic processes of the lens. Nicotinamide stimulates the synthesis of nicotinamide dinucleotide (NAD), a cofactor of dehydrogenases.

Indications
Cataract of various genesis.

Contraindications .
Individual hypersensitivity to the components of the drug; children under 18 years of age (due to the lack of data on the efficacy and safety of the drug in children and adolescents under 18).
Administration during pregnancy and lactation
There is no sufficient experience concerning use of the drug during pregnancy and breastfeeding. It is possible to use the drug during pregnancy and breastfeeding if the expected effects on the mother justify the potential risk to the fetus and child.

Dosage and administration method

  • Topically, 1-2 drops into conjunctival sac 3 times a day.
  • Procedure for use of the vial:
    1. Rotate the vial counter-clockwise to open it and remove the cap. 2.
    Carefully, without touching the tip of the vial with your fingers, turn the vial upside down, fix it between the thumb and forefinger of one hand.
    3. Tilt your head back, place the tip of the vial over your eye and with the index finger of your other hand pull down the lower eyelid. Lightly press the bottle and inject the desired amount into the conjunctival sac of the eye.
    Avoid contact of the tip of the open vial with the surface of the eye and hands.
    4. After use place the cap on the vial and close by rotating it clockwise.
    After opening the bottle the drug can be used within 1 month. At the end of this period the drug should be thrown away.
  • Do not use the drug if the vial is visibly damaged.
