Hexicon Pharmacodynamics
Topical antiseptic with predominantly bactericidal action against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, has fungicidal and virucidal action (against lipophilic viruses). It is active against protozoa, Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, viruses, including Treponema pallidum, Chlamydia spp., Ureaplasma spp., Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Trichomonas vaginalis, Gardnerella vaginalis, Bacteroides fragilis, Herpes simplex type 2.
Some strains of Pseudomonas spp. and Proteus spp. are slightly sensitive to the drug, as well as acid-resistant forms of bacteria and bacterial spores are resistant.
Chlorhexidine does not impair the functional activity of lactobacilli.
It preserves the activity (although somewhat reduced) in the presence of blood, pus.
Indications
Treatment of bacterial vaginosis, colpitis (including nonspecific, mixed, trichomonadal).
Prevention of infectious and inflammatory complications in obstetrics and gynecology (before surgical treatment of gynecological diseases, before childbirth and abortion, before and after installation of an intrauterine device (IUD), before and after cervical diathermic coagulation, before intrauterine examinations).
Prophylaxis of sexually transmitted infections (chlamydia, ureaplasmosis, trichomoniasis, gonorrhea, syphilis, genital herpes) – use not later than 2 hours after intercourse.
Contraindications .
Hypersensitivity to chlorhexidine and other components of the drug, children under 18 years of age.

Pregnancy and lactation:
Use of the drug in pregnancy and during breastfeeding is possible only after careful evaluation of the expected benefits to the mother and the risk to the fetus and child.
Directions for use and dosages
- Intravaginal.
- Before use, it is recommended to soak the tablet in water.
- For treatment: 1 vaginal tablet 1-2 times a day for 7-10 days.
- For the prevention of sexually transmitted infections: 1 vaginal tablet not later than 2 hours after unprotected intercourse.
- If the symptoms of the disease persist for more than 7 days, it is recommended to consult a doctor.
